I disagree with the Iglesia ni Cristo teaching that Christ is man.
How can this be true, when Christ is not a product or

Letter to the Editor:
PASUGO, September 1995, p.2

I AM AN avid reader of your magazine I get my copies from neighbors who are members of your Church, .However, I disagree with your teaching that Christ is man. How can this be true, when Christ is not a product or result of the fertilization of the cell?

Editor's reply:

If we accept the belief that Christ is not man because he “is not a product or result of the fertilization of the egg cell,” then we also have to accept that Adam and Eve are not human beings because they are likewise not the outcome of this biological process.

The Bible, which is the word of God, states four ways of creation. The first man was created out of dust (cf. Gen. 2:7); the first woman, out of the flesh of the first man (cf. Gen. 2:21-23).

The Lord Jesus was created by God through the Holy Spirit (cf. Mt. 1:18-24).

We were created by God through the union of man and woman. We should note, however, that it was still God who formed us in our mother’s womb (cf. Is. 44:2).

Although our Lord Jesus Christ was born out of extraordinary circumstances, the truth remains that He is a man-a fact attested to by Christ Himself, and which His apostles taught (cf. Jn. 8:40; Mt. 1:20; Acts 2:22; I Tim. 2:5).
